I loved your Camp Bnos Yisroel videos. The way that they handled the big sister/little sister tiff was brilliant. I enjoyed the whole tshuvah of Bracha Belsky. My only comment was about Batsheva- I am a bit disappointed that after building up about her insecurities -all that happened is that her friend accused her of being jealous ( which she didn’t respond to outloud) and her counselor told her to love herself to get others to love her. I could relate to this character and the only way to help her is for a caring adult to help her develop her talents so that she is recognized for the contributions she can make to the group. The classic new kid is an excellent ball player and when he saves the game he gains instant popularity cliche is true. For an insecure person to let go of their insecurities they have to discover their talents and at the age of Batsheva that requires assistence. In future camp bnos yisroel videos or shows please address this. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thank you for your thoughtful critique. I totally agree about developing the character of Batsheva, who is clearly in process. What is great about a series is that it doesn’t require instant resolution, which isn’t believable anyway. I like your suggestion for a plot line involving adult intervention. We intend to continue the series, IY”H. I think it provides possibilities for endless stories and lessons.

Thank you for taking the time to write.

      With best wishes,
      Robin

      Hi OMG,
Camp Bnos Yisroel is different from the 2 films– it was created as a DVD series– kind of like the difference between a movie and a TV program. If you enjoyed the films, I’m sure you will enjoy CBY!

  4. loved it! says:

We just watched ‘Light for Greytowers” and enjoyed it so much (just my ten year old daughter and me), we watched the youtubes with Judy Winegard and Rivka Siegel, then got inspired to search for more. I see the 3pack DVDs of Camp Bnos Yisroel and we were looking for “The Heart That Sings” DVD…..any news on that?

On a sidebar, 6 years ago, my daughter performed in “Light for Greytowers” as an eight grader; I’m not sure I remember what part she was played, but she is an excellent performer -as a senior in high school in Rohr Bais Chaya, my daughter was the main character in “Hard Knocks and Knee Socks!” We are also neighbors with Sasha Harmon here in Pittsburgh…….excellent job all around!!

Thanks for making frum entertainment available for women and girls.

  8. Quick Question says:

Is it possible to buy the DVDs separately, not as a box set? I’d like to be able to buy just one and see if my family likes it before investing in an entire set.
