  1. my best song is ‘yisgadal vyiskadash’ it’s so real and pure and you can hear in such a song how the notes come together- it’s a REAL song- not just a bunch of notes put together! it’s also soul stirring and the music is stunning! looking forward for more REAL songs!!!

  2. Shria Yashin says:

Where can I buy this in Israel?

    Thanks,
    Shira

    • Robin Garbose says:

      Hi Shira,

Mostly Music does not distribute in Israel. The best way for you to buy it is to order here online. We can ship it to you. If you purchase it now, it will get to you by Chol HaMoed.

  3. Annessa Thomas says:

This movie “The Heart that Sings” had touched my heart and almost made me cry!

  4. I am in British Columbia Canada. I am Afraid that if I order now w/o huge shipping. I would not get it for our get together on Monday evening. would you let me buy an MP3?
Also I am wondering how much Holocaust is there in the film? We have a survivor here who could greatly benefit from this story, but I think if there are gory Holocaust scenes, it may be a problem

    • What do you mean by “buy an mp3″? We currently do not have a digital streaming-type service for our films (were you asking if you could download/stream it like a Netflix or iTunes movie?).

As for Holocaust films, you only really see a very brief flashback at the beginning of the movie. Mostly it’s of the happy family in Budapest trying to remain happy under the growing storm clouds of the war, and then the main character’s POV from her hiding place in a closet as her family is taken away. If you’ve seen the trailer to the movie you’ll see what I mean. That’s the extent of the scary scenes. The main plot of the story takes place years later, when the survivor protagonist is trying to put her life back together in America.

As for a public screening – international law and halacha prohibit public screenings without the permission of the filmmakers. To arrange a screening of a Kol Neshama film, please contact us for official fees and details.

  5. This film is a MASTERPIECE. I just purchased the DVD for Chol Hamoed and we coudnt get enough of it. I think it surpasses anything that has ever been made in the Jewish world for frum woman (its even incomparable to its predecessor a light for greytowers). From the storyline to the SUPBERB acting, the script, the setting, props, costumes- everything was so perfect and realistic so well researched the 1950s atmosphere was built so well (-I also i loved that slight sepia touch). The music the songs the dances, the professional filming – it is a feast for the eyes and heart. Its also was a perfect blend of drama- it has parts that get you teary eyed, that are emotional, meaningful, scary, but balanced – also very exciting bright and fun. I sure hope there is another one in the planning.
    Thank you!
    Devorah from Brooklyn
