Kol Neshama on Kickstarter

February 23, 2011

Dear Friends,

We are very excited to be in the final stretch of post production for our new movie musical, The Heart That Sings, Baruch HaShem, but still need completion funds to finish. Through Hashgacha Pratis, I was introduced to Kickstarter, the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world.

What is Kickstarter? Think of it as a virtual pushka!

Kickstarter is a new way to fund creative projects which believes that:

* A good idea, communicated well, can spread fast and wide.
* A large group of people can be a tremendous source of money and encouragement.

Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.

Let me introduce you to this incredibly innovative tool and ask you to please join in bringing The Heart That Sings to fruition! We literally just launched our campaign. As you will see, pledges do not have to be high and the “rewards” are really fun and terrific. Please consider being amongst the first to pledge and kickstart our campaign to the finish line!

Gratitude’s an attitude that comes from the heart…

This is a lyric from the latest song by Levi Yitzhaq Garbose, the last song in The Heart That Sings. I am eternally grateful to you, our first Backers, who have kickstarted this campaign! With HaShem’s help, this will be a successful undertaking. But you, dear friends, have a special merit in being the first.

    All my best,
    Robin Garbose

These Frum Filmmakers Are Revolutionizing Orthodox Cinema

July 12, 2016

by Simi Horwitz The Haredi world is generally viewed as an insular patriarchal community that shuns movies. Virtually nobody owns a TV. Still, a fledgling, shadow film industry has been growing quietly for a decade within the confines of this improbable universe. These flicks — dozens of them — are produced, scripted, directed and performed by […]
